The Seiko Acier 5854-5000 (JDM code RGD010) belongs to Seiko's Premium Vintage line: an ultra-thin, cushion-shaped "TV style" case with a brushed silver, sunburst-white dial and slim stick indices, worn on an integrated milanese mesh bracelet. Its integrated design is often compared to the work of Gerald Genta, though his involvement in the Acier line is not documented.

The Story: The Seiko Acier 5854-5000 (JDM code RGD010), from around 1978, belongs to Seiko's premium line of the time: an ultra-thin cushion-shaped TV case, a brushed silver sunburst dial with slim stick indices and an integrated Milanese mesh bracelet, with a sapphire crystal over the high-accuracy 5854 quartz. Collectors often compare its integrated look to the work of Gerald Genta; his involvement in the Acier line is not documented, though, and the only Seiko officially credited to him is the 1979 Credor Locomotive.
