The Longines Conquest V.H.P. (Very High Precision), reference L1.613.4, is a Swiss quartz watch from the 1990s, built around a thermo-compensated movement that is rated to about 10 seconds a year, with a distinctive integrated stainless steel bracelet.

The Story: When Longines launched the first Conquest V.H.P. (Very High Precision) in 1984, in the middle of the quartz crisis, an ultra-accurate quartz watch was one of watchmaking's great goals, and the original was rated to about 10 seconds a year. This 1990s Conquest V.H.P. (L1.613.4) carries the idea on: a thermo-compensated calibre L.174 that corrects for temperature, rated to about 10 seconds a year, in a steel case on an integrated bracelet.

Collector's Clue: About 10 seconds a year: set it on New Year's Day and check it next December.
